My office is a boat named Putt Putt.

Bananas are good luck on Putt Putt.

When I started my wellbeing business in 2015 my office was a yacht named Water Is Life that lived on a mooring in Geilston Bay and sailed around the Derwent estuary and Storm Bay on wellbeing related adventures.

I sold Water Is Life in 2020 amidst the pandemic related economic downturn and movement restrictions that severely impacted my, and many other people’s, small business.

This year I have a new on water adventure office, Putt Putt.

Why is she called Putt Putt?

Well look at her… Cute, round, nice, and she has a diesel inboard engine that goes putt putt!

She travels at a relaxed place.

She is more mindfulness than full on adventure.

More Testing!

Our first trip out on Putt Putt found a few things that needed attention and some operating skills and procedures that needed streamlining.

Today we took her out for her second test trip, and Billy the therapy dog came with us for the adventure.

Billy came too, in his brand new life vest.

On our first trip we had a problem with the Volvo diesel engine overheating. This was not that surprising as the boat had been idle on land for about four years before we purchased her. We sorted out the cooling system back on land and were confident that the matter was sorted.

But it was not so!

Once we got underway on this short test voyage the engine alarm once again sounded its very sharp signal and red flashing light.

We immediately turned it off and lifted the engine cover to find that the problem this time was in a different place. The engine coolant reservoir was leaking.

Fortunately we were in a really nice spot where we put our anchor down and phoned for help.

After trying a few people we got hold of local fisherman Sam who just happened to launching his new boat and he came out and towed us back to the jetty at Lewisham, by the boat ramp where we had started the day.

We will be giving the engine a complete check over and test before we go out again. We may even need to take Putt Putt to our local boat mechanic at Extreme Marine Dodges Ferry to make sure everything is reliable and safe.
